2019 Fountaine Pajot Helia 44 Evolution | Solis

Solis is ready to set sail to any destination in the world in style and comfort. Solis, derived from sol, (Spanish for sun) is an Evolution Maestro model boasting three queen cabins including the decadent, private and very spacious owner’s suite.

She’s only had one owner, who collected her brand new from the Fountaine Pajot factory in La Rochelle, France in 2019, then sailed down the Atlantic Coast and cruised in the Mediterranean. They placed her on a hardstand in Greece to return to Australia for a few months, then Covid hit, so she remined there for three years.

Their journey started again in March 2022, cruising along the Dalmatian Coast, followed by the French and Italian Riviera to Gibraltar and across to explore Tangier and Morocco. They then joined the ARC Atlantic Rally in the Canary Islands, arriving in St Lucia in the Caribbean in December.

After cruising the Caribbean Islands for six weeks, they joined the ARC Pacific Rally to Galapagos Islands via the Panama Canal before the longest sail (approx. 22 days at sea) to arrive in French Polynesia.

They then island-hopped home to Australia arriving in the Gold Coast in November 2023. Having completed the trip of a lifetime, the owners are now ready to pass her on to the next adventurous sailors to fulfill their own dream voyages.

Solis is a fantastic blue water cruiser, having sailed an impressive 25,000 nm without any issues. The owners sailed conservatively, rather than racing, in the rallies – always observing reefing guidelines and respecting weather conditions to avoid unnecessary stress on the boat (or themselves).

Her two powerful Volvo Penta 50Hp engines have only done 1600 hours.

Solis has an enormous list of factory fitted options for supreme comfort, self-sufficiency and easy, high performance sailing.

The owners added Starlink, allowing them to watch the Essendon v. Collingwood Anzac Day match while half way across the Pacific! Short wave radio helped keep in touch with other cruisers at sea.

The addition of a Watt & Sea Cruise 600 Hydrogenerator and inverter allowed them to top up batteries while making fresh water and cover the general base load power consumption while sailing, especially at night under sail.
